- If the Clubs and Societies Officer receives a written complaint by a student, member of a Club, staff member or on behalf of a club within 60 days of the last incident, the Clubs and Societies Officer may escalate the complaint to the Clubs and Societies Committee on behalf of the person or club.
- The Clubs and Societies Officer and the Clubs and Societies Committee holds the power to:
- Make recommendations to clubs and societies, including but not limited to;
- The removal a member of a club;
- The removal of an Executive of a club;
- To cause a club to publish a formal and public apology on their own behalf;
- Require club members to participate in a formal debrievement of issues in the form of a private meeting with members of the QUT Student Guild and/or QUT Equity;
- Require club members to participate in a formal mediation process with members of QUT Student Guild Student Advocacy team and/or QUT Equity;
- Send a formal warning to a club regarding their actions; and/or
- Disaffiliation.
- Any criminal conduct of a club member or Executive will be cause for immediate termination from the club.
- In the absence of any grievance policy regarding members within a club’s Constitution, a club may request that the Clubs and Societies team endorse the termination of a member from their club.
- The Extraordinary Meeting of the Clubs and Societies Committee have the power to, but not limited to:
- The removal of a member of a club;
- The removal of an Executive of a club;
- Cause a club to publish a formal and public apology on their own behalf; and/or
- In the circumstance where a member of a club has been removed or terminated, they shall be unable to join any future QUT Student Guild Affiliated club or society.
- The Clubs and Societies Officer will be required to host a follow up meeting with the club to discuss the resolution of the grievance, next steps and/or available support services.
